Schneider Electric's Resource Advisor launched in 2005 with a handful of static energy management reports that were updated manually.  The company wanted to expand the tool into a SaaS application and focus on 2 key priorities: Self-service and greatly expanded reporting.

Through critical work with key stakeholders in the organization, and user research with many of the top clients, a list of requirements was created and plotted over a long-term roadmap.

The product was then designed in coordination with the development team to ensure feasibility with the chosen platform and architecture. The product design was iterated many times over the years to ensure market leadership and client satisfaction.  Additional features, such as sustainability reporting, were added with each iteration and client surveys and data analytics were used to validate the update each time.

By 2019 Resource Advisor had won numerous industry awards and has become a core source of revenue for the organization*.

From simple beginnings to a global market leader in energy and sustainability management, EcoStruxure Resource Advisor has become the industry leader in the management of industrial energy tracking and ESG reporting around the world.
Multiple dashboard concepts were designed to allow the development team to experiment and try to push the boundaries of what they were able to create on the platform.
We went from 50% accuracy to above 90% data accuracy, completion, and assurance of the data with Resource Advisor.
- Fortune 500 Finance Leader
With an over-abundance of data, the challenge for Schneider Electric and their customers was ensuring the data was accurate and presented clearly.  A significant amount of time was spent interviewing stakeholders and end-users to understand how the data was gathered, followed by an effort to automate as much validation as possible.
With the commitments we’ve made to our investors, to our stakeholders, to the public, to have data that is not accurate or has gaps is just unacceptable.  With a solution like this we get it right the first time.
- Fortune 500 executive
The largest conributor to dirty-data was end-user Excel documents and data-entry errors.  We addressed this by developing an integrated spreadsheet solution for data-entry that matched and simplified the workflow for end-users.  This allowed realtime validation and reporting, among other benefits.
We use this data to build business cases that set CO2 reduction targets... we rely on this system to tell us where we are and where we need to be.
- Fortune 500 SUSTAINABILITY LEADER
With the new design and features, new marketing materials were needed to showcase the new product.  Additionally, a new mobile app was designed to focus on simple dashboards and KPIs for executives to reference quickly on their devices.
