Mobile Sales Tool
In 2019, Corteva separated from DowDupont, boasting a portfolio of over 500 products. Approximately 98% of these products are internally utilized by Sales Reps, Agronomists, Processing Plants, and more. Tasking my team with mapping the user journey for one of these use cases, I initiated a thorough documentation process to identify all accessed products and unearth potential opportunities. Through interviews with sales reps, my team meticulously charted their annual journey, uncovering several critical issues significantly impacting their roles:

Over 30 different desktop/mobile apps used throughout the year, leading to huge efficiency loss and a long training process for new reps.

Frequently lacking an internet data connection when on-site at farms.

Delayed reporting and app cross-sync caused distribution errors.
The strategy for solving many of the issues involved creating a new mobile app that would combine the 10 most impactful legacy products into a single tool. Additionally, data management was centralized where possible, and the tool was built as a native app to allow for offline usage.
The native apps for iOS and Android were deployed on 7500 managed devices by late 2023, with intentions to extend availability to unmanaged devices by late 2024. These apps offer features such as offline data download capability, along with access to product specifications, seed allocations, availability status, sales targets, and existing invoicing.
Following the app's initial success, a roadmap was established to phase out eight of the ten integrated products by the end of 2025, anticipating annual product maintenance savings exceeding $10 million. Another financial benefit emerged as well: with the time saved through consolidated products and UI efficiencies (~ 10%), sales reps are able to cover broader territories, leading to reduced sales rep hiring needs.
Although we didn't integrate all 30 apps into the initial launch phase, our meticulous research and prioritization enabled us to achieve significant positive outcomes that aligned with the product objectives.
